Anyone with recent experience recruiting for Boston Consulting Group? Got in touch with a recruiter through referral, was directed to submit an application and already finished my pymetrics. Anyone know when I would be able to hear back and what the hiring timeline looks like? Recruiter suggested to get back in a few weeks but isn’t it too slow? McKinsey sent me an invite for 1st interview in a few days after they received my referral.

Usually office specific unless it’s an expert role. Unlikely to be possible to switch offices, but doesn’t hurt to ask recruiting
Dang, was debating explicitly flagging it before R1 but thought it was premature and maybe been a general pool. :( Thanks anyway
Regions, systems, and offices each have a target. Offers are definitely decided by the office that interviews and makes the offers.
Whether you ask now, after an offer, after you start - each is difficult or risky in its own way. Asking now before you have an offer risks seeming that you aren’t committed to the office - because you aren’t. Asking after an offer is risky because it’s the office that made the offer. Asking after you start will likely be a no until you have demonstrated exceptional performance that both offices say yes to a transfer.
It’s up to you which you want to risk. You can ask. They can say no.
Its a tough deal but given how much you will travel its possible to maintain a second home base off the record. Once you are a year or two in, you can request an official transfer (works really well if you establish a working relationship with principals and partners in the office you want to transfer to)

Offers are office specific, but I have seen people be accommodated because a spouse had an offer elsewhere.
