To be honest, I met two of my mentors at work! They were contractors, managing some short term projects for my plant. We stayed in touch over the years and they have always been kind to share their thoughts and experiences with me.
They aren’t in my particular field, but I purposely choose to talk to people outside of it so I can get different perspectives. What’s most important to me is that we’re aligned on how we live our lives. They’ve given me some awesome advice over the years to help me keep that a priority.

Not sure if the right spot but need help figuring out my worth. I am with a large real estate PE firm, mcol area, and I am technically in FP&A. That said I do 95% of my work automating valuations, fund models, and underwriting using SQL, python, and excel (for end users to be able to use). Given my technical department, my skill set, and my actual work I don’t know where to start for understanding an appropriate salary. I have 5 years industry experience with both finance & tech.

Any thoughts regarding picking an offer for first major job out of it uni.

Been wanting to leave Europe pre-Covid and have a boutique offer - digital strategy focus in the UAE

Recently received an MBB-offer in the city I am currently in. Transfer "maybe" after a year.

MBB will help more at home in the States, but boutique offers more relaxed hours, new city and international environment.

Am I and how much am I sacrificing for boutique? Which gives a long-term international environment?

Hello! New to Fishbowl! I am looking for a mentor. I was a stay at home mom and have decided to return to the workforce after my divorce. I am currently a TA but I desire to move into HRIS. I am currently working for a start-up e-commerce logistics company. Accepted the offer in efforts to “get my foot in the door” but I feel like I’m grossly underpaid and unfulfilled bc I didn’t know how to leverage my skills. So I’m looking for guidance on how to make this transition. Thanks in advance!

My ASM is lazy and is incapable of doing the easiest basic tasks with recruitment. She receives all my end of day updates, is cc’d on all emails, makes me fill out 5 repetitive excel/smart sheet, and joins all my meetings but she still wants to call having me 5x daily about updates. I’m always the one to go to if other recruiters fail to meet client deadlines and cleaning up recruiters mistakes. How do I even handle this to begin with?
