Is part time work in audit ever possible?
Busy season continues

Just signed the outside employment form in KPMG onboarding system. I actually wanted to start dabbling in creative writing as a potentially monetizable hobby, but I'm guessing this may pose issues.
Definitely interested in the "exception from this policy may be requested if provision of non-professional services doesn't interfere with one's duties of causes conflict of interest" clause, though. Has anyone been able to get one of those before?

Biggest advice is do not delay review with any engagements without experienced staff or else it will take more of your time and energy later.
If you leave a coaching note send back the workflow.
Set a daily target for preparers and reviewers. Send people home when they hit it.
Use burndown charts so everyone can easily see where you are.

Giving your new hires set date for completing tasks. Be specific with what their work includes. Make sure to remind them to write down wtf youre telling them...how many times I repeat myaelf is mind boggling. Definitely 2 weekly quick meetings for each team/teammate i found that if I couldnt get time with my manager I knew I had that 30 minutes to ask for help/clarification/agreement on ideas. I always double checked with my boss when the drop dead date was for her review and the filing/board meeting deadlines were. And I built in a earlier timeliness for myself. I have a excel sheet that I put in the drop date and it auto fills due dates. The dates are still a bit flexible. Alway always give positive feedback and reinforcement. All negative feedback and your team will go off the fcking rails. My supervisor was a negative Ned and wouldn't communicate properly and never gave praise.. I was constantly having to put out fires from him upsetting newbies because he upset them constantly. And these were professional people not snowflakes, standard normal young adults that understood the workloads. I had to go directly to the partner constantly. But the company loves this guy... he should really be terminated he's awful. Anyway, good luck 4 engagements shouldn't be too hard to handle. I now realized I had way too much assigned to me.
Put 2 weekly recurring meetings on your calendar for each one to stay on top of everyone
