I’ve always gotten the advice that when you want to switch jobs you should take interviews from places you’re not actually interested in, so you can understand your value in the market and have better negotiating power.

I’m doing that rn - took a couple interviews to gauge my skills, my market value, and see what I need to work on for interviews that I actually care about.

I am so anxious right now! Just got a job offer 2 weeks ago and still waiting on the written offer letter. I asked for an update and the recruiter reached out 2 days ago letting me know that they had some final requirements that should be approved that day so they can send the offer letter out. It’s been 2 days. My question is can I message the recruiter for an update? Will that be too annoying?

HR pros - I have a question for you. I got disappointing news that I didn’t get either of the roles I applied for. I was shocked because the interviews went really well and my experience was in line, if not on the higher end of requirements. I was told that it was my salary and job title expectation. I’d be ok with that if they hadn’t flown my ass out there to meet with everyone. They knew my salary and position expectations before inviting me to the interview. Should I buy it?

I just graduated and I have made it pass the third interview which was a two part working interview that I will receive compensation for. I have BS degree in healthcare professions and wanted to know if 40k is too low of salary to start off as a compliance officer for a pharmacy that provides discounted medications. I interviewed for an internal opportunity a couple weeks ago (Engineer w/ 4 YOE to Product Manager role). There were a few other internal candidates, and I have not heard anything since the interview other than "we are still waiting on approval on some things from the president, but he has been out on vacation, say hang tight." That was last Monday and have not heard anything since then. Should I assume that I did not get the position? What is the typical turnaround time for internal ops?

Welp. Had an interview scheduled for this morning for 30 mins. I join the webex & nothing. I email the recruiter after 15 mins and get a response saying the interviewer had something come up and would like to reschedule. Is it dramatic of me to be bothered by the fact they didn’t even apologize? Meanwhile, I have another interview for a different company Monday & the recruiter reached out today asking if I had any questions or do a zoom test run.
