How is the work life balance in Citi?
Here is the scenario: Have 2 offers from IT MNCs and 1 from Citi. Citi's offer is the highest. Almost 5 lakhs diff in the fixed component. Although money is important, but I am also seeking a little balance with life. I was previously in ZS Associates and to be frank, life was hell. I am not looking to relive that phase again.
What are the daily actual working hours?
Shall I join Citi or let go it for a lower package offer?
Seeking honest advice here.

The firm had a reputation for leaning more to the Democratic side of things, so that's why the deal was a surprise.

Democratic power-players, excellent in litigation and representing Apollo broadly; they also hired Scott Barshay, who brought over an insane M&A book (and, from what I’ve heard, a bad attitude). They had some lawyers sanctioned for insane conduct around a lawsuit for Exxon, which cost them a lot of their progressive credibility (but DNC-adjacent circles in DC still liked them— raised a ton of cash). The Trump deal seems to have ended their favored child status amongst the (D) powers that be. I imagine this Epstien business may move them to pariah status politically, especially once Schumer retires from/otherwise leaves the senate (his brother was at PW for a long while). The firm’s corporate department had also begun to have a conservative tilt, which may add to all of this.

Great take. Thanks.
I now consider it a great honor that PW rejected me on more than one attempt.

Life is full of dodged bullets.
P, W was a very strong brand. We were all inspired by the chairman’s charisma and even mesmerized by his visual charm, which obviously motivated attorneys throughout the firm to work harder.

Brad definitely “looked the part” which helped boost morale for not only the firm but also his clients. Not sure I have more to add other than that
I don’t think you’ll find too many people around here that are as naive to think that we (collectively) don’t work for the baddies.

My firms represented plenty of people who were accused or convicted of doing terrible things. I once represented a plaintiff class consisting of people who collectively committed hundreds of murders and probably tens of thousands of violent crimes. But none of us were cavorting with those people socially, or asking them to get our kids internships with other sex abusers, or helping line up surveillance of their conquests. The stuff in Karp’s emails with Epstein goes WAAAAAY beyond providing legal representation to bad people.
Where are you guys finding sources of this news? I’m searching google news but can’t find much and a lot of what I’m hearing is from this platform. I want to read the stuff myself.

yeah just go to the DOJ’s Epstein site & search away. truly insane stuff to be found
