Um no? Our bar results day everyone just kept saying congrats and I responded with I failed. I did not but still. Yea it was a relief and an accomplishment but I didn’t feel it was noteworthy and knew there would be people out there who didn’t pass.

So lie to co-workers about relevant work credentials in a way that makes them think less of you over celebrating a moment that was years in the making? Brilliant move.

like

YES. This is like your biggest accomplishment to date. You should absolutely let people know

Of course

like

“For those of you hoping that you’d never see me again… Ha!”

likefunny

I'd laugh at that as a mid level

like

Sure! But I wouldn’t make it too braggy. Send something short and light hearted.

like

I agree but disagree.

Short and sweet via email. Longer on LinkedIn is fine (with the caveat that you normally post there.)

The “I’m elated to announce…” is so cliche.

We used to announce every junior that passed the bar in my group, and usually held a little informal happy hour in their honor. It’s not a big deal, but we all remember what a massive relief getting that news was. It’s worth celebrating, and a little attention helps your juniors feel like a valued team member. I say send the email and enjoy the kudos.

“Hey! Looks like I won’t be fired…at least not for failing the bar! I passed!”

like

Why would anyone brag about that lol it is essentially the bare minimum you need to practice. But of course send an email and congrats!

funnylikesmart

Aren’t we all? But yes I agree with you. We all did it, if someone sent an email of how hard it was or how much they studied I would stop reading half way and not reply congrats lol 😂

Yeah, some of them are curious anyway but don’t want to ask in case you got bad news

like

It’s not typical and people may think it’s cringy but I don’t see the harm. Congrats!

likefunny

Do it! My small team made a huge deal of me getting sworn into my new state when it was just via reciprocity. Some people like to celebrate successes, esp of the young ppl that are just starting their careers.

like

I did when I was a first year, and my small group was very happy for me and happy I told them first. I’m a seventh year now fwiw

like

Yes!! Congratulations!

like

Fuck yes!

like

Also congratulations!

like

Absolutely! All your colleagues have been there and remember the excitement and the overwhelming sense of relief. Congrats!

like

Idk but congrats! Have a beer for me to celebrate

Hi guys currently I'm working in a project with very stringent timelines. Sometimes we need to put more than 13-14 hrs each day. There are 4 members in my team. Two are involved in database prt and me and my lead are involved in the front end and middle layer prt. Somehow my lead is not at all pleased with my work. And even if I try to talk to him for something he is completely rude. Sometimes it makes me that I m completely useless. Even the other team members are following the lead
