4th year financial services associate - have an offer for a 9-5 knowledge management role at a competing firm for 94% of my current base salary. Enjoy my current role but am getting burnt out with the hours - has anyone made a similar jump? I’m worried that the km role would be less recession proof than current position.

MM shop, inv team role, I did a final round last week (my XXth IV so far) with one of the GPs. I honestly thought it went great. Haven’t heard a thing since though. Recruiter thinks I’m still in it cause of Christmas-Hol.

How much actual court experience should a junior litigator expect to get in the first year? I've been my firm 6 months as a civil litigator not and have yet to go to a hearing. There have been a few (all relatively minor) but each time the partner tells me it's not important enough for me to attend. As a junior, I feel like I need to learn and no hearing is to minor. How else am I supposed to learn?

Hi all, I am trying to DCA bi-weekly into Vanguard ETFs, (VO, VTI etc). It seems like Fidelity does not support auto buying of non-Fidelity ETFs. So I was wondering which of these options you think is best?

1. Open a Vanguard Invest account
2. Look for Fidelity ETFs that are similar to Vanguard ETFs
3. Use smaller brokerages like SoFi l, Robinhood etc.

I really do not want to manage nor be active. My goal is to log-in like once every 6 months.

T-14 and big law have placed me in the company of some really accomplished individuals. It likely skewed the bar in terms of what I find as impressive.

I lateraled into a niche practice group in Sept 2021. I also have a 1 year old and have been mostly remote since I started - but have been keeping busy tracking towards 2400-2500 hours. That said getting to know people only remote has been kind of awkward at times (email only can be tough to decipher) although as a working mom the pros vastly outweigh the cons. I’ve made it 5+ years in a NY M&A practice and have consistent exceeding expectations reviews. I’ve had a few mental breakdowns because of work during this time, but thankfully made it through. 1st yr at a nyc v50 firm doing general transactional work. I know the lateral market for transactional lawyers is hot but not as hot for juniors. I just want a change of scenery because my current firm is bleeding good associates / not giving great training imo / and just seems small. Would lateralling this early feasible? Would it look bad on my resume?
