The Goal is written as a novel and has a good intro to some supply chain concepts.

Cool to see McK recommend The Goal. That was required reading in my MBA. Agree it is a good book, but I’m not in supply chain strategy, so I can’t vouch for how relevant it is. I really liked it though.

Yes, the goal was mandatory during my bachelor. Looking for more applied strategy book! Like world class warehousing

I’m job searching right now and applied for a job I was a little overqualified for just to shoot my shot and get my foot in the door with a great brand. The hiring mgr took the time to email me to tell me I was overqualified and offered to help me get connected to his network. He’s been so kind and helpful and I’m kind of in shock at his generosity. Even if an offer doesn’t come from it, is it weird if I send him a Starbucks gift card or something as a thank you? What’s appropriate?

Joining a big firm next week as fully remote lateral and flying out to home office for orientation. The schedule has me in office until 4:15. I’ve already been told I won’t have any actual work. Depending on how many people are there and how it feels, I was planning to stay an hour extra but should I hang around the office until later? First time visiting this city so it’d be great to take in some sights too (although that’s not a priority of course).
