What’s the best way to make your email stand out to a recruiter?

Keep it short and include something that shows your personality and that you know something about our agency. We can tell when you use a template and simply change agency names. And for the love of all that is holy, make sure you address the email to our name and not the name of the previous recruiter you emailed. You might be surprised at how often that happens.

The best way is to follow up with a second and third brief email. Following up is a superpower - very few people have it.

Hello fishes, What is the process of project allocation in IBM GBS for laterals? Do the new employees get to choose the project or is it thrust upon them? How easy is it to switch between projects? I have heard it's very manager centric.

Recently, as you probably know, Dr. Seuss's estate chose to stop printing a few of his older books that had offensive racial stereotypes. There was huge backlash from white people, including teachers here, screaming "cancel culture!"
Now we have a white guy who murdered eight Asians in custody, unharmed; while the police officer who killed an African American man for allegedly trying to pass a bad check is about to go on trial.
Full disclosure: I'm white. But I'm still enraged by all this. You?

I’m looking for apartments in LA. I was looking at Vinz at Fairfax. Two people are thanking the apartment complex for allowing their autistic friend to live there. Do autistic people have a hard time renting? Sad if so & would appreciate the apartment even more if they’re accommodating to people on the spectrum. One review mentioned it’s a “homeless shelter to autistic” so I didn’t know if it was code for something.

Also, any reviews on Vinz fishies can share? I dknt always Google reviews.

Do those above CD, let’s say a CCO or Global CCO, look at portfolios to hire mid-senior creatives, or are they focused on running the agency?

Is it weird to email those that high up with books? Better luck w/recruiter or CDs?

Applied for a job, & the recruiter followed up with me saying they really like my book & wanted the password for the protected work. Gave it to them, & haven’t heard anything in a month. (Cont)

Please give me some advice on how to negotiate a salary. How to ask for more money if they come low? What else beside salary can I negotiate? Anything else I should know.

Out of curiosity - how are external recruiters compensated for getting candidates hired? Is it a flat fee, portion of salary, budget saved, subscription, etc? If it varie, what have you typically pursued?

How accurate are the salary ranges for job listings on Glassdoor?

Help! I recently applied for a position with my dream employer. I have several referrals from current employees but can’t seem to get the recruiter to respond (it’s been about a month). I’ve been told she’s incredibly busy, but does anyone have any thoughts as to how I should proceed? Feels like I’ve hit an unnecessary roadblock.

Anyone know the process of applying to Google ? Just submitted a job and not sure if now it’s the waiting game and if so how long?

Why are interviews all on the phone these days? I get we are soooo busy, but this is about a employer investing in a hire and an employee investing in a company. Is it so bad to meet face to face

My AD coworker (not currently my partner) just got hired at a new agency and wants to bring me along as his writer. I'd love to join. He told the recruiter at that agency about me and sent my book. I also have another former coworker (creative) who put in a good word for me.

Should I reach out to the recruiter, too? Or is that overkill after two recos? I don't want to be bothersome. But I do want to show interest..

This all happened on Friday, if that matters. Thanks!

Hello! I am stuck with a problem and need help. I've been working at a start up agency with good pay and benefits for the past 3 months. The problem is, I recently decided to move to another state for my sanity at the peril of losing this job. Upon hire, my CD informed me that the agency wishes to have mandatory in office visits about 2-3 days a week in the future. Now my q is - should i look for another job, then talk to the CD, or should i speak to them now. FYI I do wish to stay with them!

I have recently received an offer to join the recruiting team at Horizon Media. Could anyone share thoughts about culture in company and/or team? I would join remote. I’m trying to decide in between 2 offers. Thanks.

I’ve connected with a bunch of recruiters lately and they’ve all mentioned the lack of viable, creative candidates right now. Is this true or are they just gassing me up?

How long does it take between a second interview and a job offer? What the norm?

Moving to Portland from NYC in 3-4 months. Any tips for finding a job before I move out? Using a staffing agency or trying through contacts? Is there a way to do both smartly?

Hi recruiters, my teammate and I are looking for a move ideally together but it could be separated. Do you think is wrong to introduce ourselves together saying that we’re opened to individual roles?

What are some important points to cover when answering “why do you want to work here”? Also how in depth should this answer be when filling it out in a job application?

I’m interviewing at 2 different companies this week that I’m really excited about. One is a contract coordinator position that has potential to turn full time. I feel pretty confident as a coordinator and think they will want to hire me full time. I have never worked a contract position so I’m curious if you guys have any pros/cons? What pay should i look for per hour @ a startup for a coordinator role? The other interview is for a salary coordinator position @ a public company
