’Bowlers, I have been thinking about potentially seeking bar admission in another jurisdiction, but I don’t know if it would really be worth the effort and expense. I practice in Southern California and am thinking about Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, or Washington (not listed in order of preference). Good or bad idea? Worth it? Any input would be appreciated.

Personal opinion - anything that can get you out of California is worth it.

This is what I have heard as well. The attorneys that I work for are all licensed in several states and it seems to be quite lucrative for them.

I would honestly love to take another bar exam.

I don’t remember who besides CA is in the 9th circuit, but you can create appeal’s opportunities

A1: I wouldn’t mind taking another bar exam either. I found it to be a great experience. All of the states I mentioned are in the 9th Circuit, but we also have Montana, Idaho, Alaska, and some islands in the Pacific.

Lyft driver delayed picking me up 30 min, resulting in me canceling my ride and asking hotel to call me a “yellow taxi” to get to the airport because it was 5am and all ubers/lyfts were 15 min. Specifically said yellow. Hotel calls me a private lux SUV and the driver got out of the car to handshake the man who called and said hi (honestly money couldve been passed). I then get hit with a $180 ride. Marriott website says taxi should be $65. Should I complain or let it go?

Hi all. I am trying to determine if I am being compensated fairly. I am a tax manager (about to start my second year as manager) and have been with EY since staff 1. I was promoted to manager in June 2020 (during covid) and received a 7.5% raise. The class above me has mentioned they received much higher raises during their promotion years. My base salary is now approx. 97K. Any insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

The offer from the large firm is for a pre-suit position, base salary of $100K - is this salary pretty standard for this kind of position?

Any insight is appreciated, thank you!!
