AA is a joke. Worst of the big 3. Sorry about your experience OP
I called back an hour later and not only has the ticket not been changed there is no record of the agent offering to do so.
I’m not even sure what resolution I want here. If I hadn’t been checking for the reservation to update my wife would have shown up to the airport and not had a flight tomorrow.
What should I ask for, or do I finally just give up AA entirely? I’m platinum now, have historically been exec plat but scaled way back since AA consistently has stupid shit like this happen.
wow, none of this surprises me. AA has taught me to always ask for the agent’s name and call center.
You can always change an award ticket for free (maybe not these new web fares) as long as the departing city and origin did not change regardless of status or lack there of. I’m not sure what you are looking for but they should still be able to do it.
The difference for exp is that you can cancel at anytime without penalty. If you’re not exp you have to pay for the miles back.
I’ve had the same thing happen to me with AA. I called back a few days later when I noticed the change wasn’t made and they said there was no record me calling and requesting the change. So I said well I definitely called and the agent just hung up on me.
