Coach
You can’t really ballpark this when you include the fact investigation. Sometimes the fact investigation is “why was this guy fired?” “He punched his boss in the face, here’s the video” and then 2 minutes of watching the video and then you draft. Other times you’re down a rabbit hole with multiple conflicting doctors notes and accommodation requests for 37 hours.
Yeah, I am in biglaw and it’s rare for a position statement AND fact investigation to be less than 10 hours unless we were involved in the underlying separation. Usually fact investigation alone is 5-6 hours of reviewing docs and talking to client/manager then it’s probably another 10 hours to draft a good statement.
It obviously depends on how unique the situation is or how straightforward it is. But I would say in all, averaging 10 hours including fact investigation doesn’t sound unreasonable.
Agreed. If it takes more than 10 hours my partners/clients start to ask why.
I’ve done a ton. They take me on average 10-15 hours now. I was certainly slower when I first started.
Agree with this 100%
