They do implementations
there aren’t too many on this app and i’ve asked before, so i’ll summarize what i’ve been told:
1) salary is on par, not sure about levels/roles but it’s not like back office or anything that might convey less prestige/money. no idea about bonus.
2) some McK folks have mentioned they didn’t realize a colleague they were working with was MI until after the project was over
3) they tend to hire people with deep industry experience because...
4) the work is basically implementation of the strategy that the strategy consultants develop
based on what i have heard, your 6-10 years of experience in ERP/SAP/Workday/other tech of the year is not valuable to them.
think instead someone who has an MBA and 8 years experience as a brand manager for P&G or something like that to help implement a new brand activation for a client like heinz or general mills
again, this is just what i’ve been told on this app when i asked in the past
@SC1 accurate response. To clarify, there is no difference in bonus either
You won't be part of the A Team - Associate path and will have inexperienced Top MBA/JD hires create strategies that can't be implemented for you to implement. When things go South, the B Team (the one you're on) will take the fall. There's a reason they segmented this group to be Mck Imp and not part of their core Mck & Co. group. Their strategy can rarely be wrong as it's bad for business and reputation; it's the people implementing it that are always deficient. That's what I've been told by two classmates that went there and left. Salary about 10-20% less based on experience. Hope to hear from someone there right now to see how things are too.
@D1, the titles have been mostly harmonized and there is absolutely no difference in pay. Same pay bands, same evaluation criteria, same progression. Not a thing different except implementation Folks get some specialized training in transformations at scale and tend to have industry experience
