I work in refining. I really enjoy the company I work for, but a competitor just offered me 30% more for my same position, same responsibilities and a 5% increase in bonus target as well. I always hear of bringing it up to your employer just leads them to letting you go earlier. I believe I’m a good worker and am on their high performer list. Should I give my current company the option to match? If so how does one bring this up? Or should I just put in my two weeks and leave?

Recently promoted to L5 in Strategy & Ops at Google. Feels like a good time to take stock of my career. I don't think I want to pursue a longer career in StratOps, but would like to stay in Google for the foreseeable future. I like the sound of PM roles (but aware it can be hard to transition / secure a role with limited PM experience).
