Oh they approved it. And we did it. And they went 4 rounds beyond scope. And I'm billing to actuals for the first time in 2 years. I already have every email to the client raising the scope flag complete with attachments labeled with the version and the round packaged up nice and neat for my VP when the client goes ballistic. Because fuck them. Client's promotion doesn't pay my Creative team's rent.
At least the lighting of my funeral pyre will be well attended.
...and I want JPEGs of every graphic in the book.
Me: Well, you're asking for more deliverables and upgraded production which is great, but it is going to cost more. Here is how much more it will cost. Let me know if I can answer questions or help prioritize if this is too much.

Also kind of funny that a tense experience turned a bad client into a good one but 💁🏻
It was fine! The overall health of the account is stellar and the relationship is strong. Sometimes things can be tense when clients want to talk price and agencies want to talk value, but good clients (like this one) understand that when value doesn't win, everyone loses.
Well now I want to know how this worked out
