My company is in need of a update online, could use your opinions! We need to better showcase our culture (caring, supportive, fun, intelligent IT industry leaders) as well as diversity. We are predominantly white still but making strides to improve here. What’s the best way to approach? I don’t want to seem disingenuous or that we are singling out our diverse employees (asking for photos). We have a remote and on-site workforce about 350+ EEs. Non white EEs make up about 35% of the company rn.

Hiring someone to lead and manage a DEIB program would be a great start if your organization is really invested and sees value in DEIB.

If you’re just updating a landing page to show how diverse your company is, applicants, candidates, employees, and customers/clients will see through the performativity if it’s not actually a part of the organizational culture.

Don’t do what my university did and find like four black people (all together) to stand in a group of a white women and use that as a cover photo for diversity lol. There wasn’t any other person of color in the picture despite many more Latino and Asian students lmao.


But also for more helpful advice. Seek volunteers for the showcase and ensure that the definition of diversity doesn’t just include outward appearance. I usually see these done perfomatively and they end up ignoring neurodivergency or LGBTQ people

Hi, great call, do not single out employees of color. Has your company done any work in the diversity space? Meaning, volunteer events, hired any diverse speakers, career fairs, out reach, donations to diverse organizations/charities? If so, with consent, use photos from those events. It will convey two things, diversity important and that you are a good corporate citizen. If you have not done any of these things, then it may be time to consider if diversity is really important to you or if you just want to appear diverse on your website.

We have started a DEI program but frankly, haven’t had enough time to really devote to it. In terms of hiring, I’d say at least 50% of new hires are from a diverse background. We’ve implemented a diversity segment in our monthly newsletter discussing and recognizing diverse holidays. It is important to us to, we’re just lacking resources to really have an in depth program at the moment..
I love your ideas, Would you mind explaining what you’ve seen in regard to hiring diverse speakers?

I just left a very toxic work place.
The crazy thing is they were just named the best local municipality to work for. It's upsetting. They advertise a "culture" but don'tapply it. It felt like a used car sales pitch, I was sold a dream but given junk. I am constantly replaying moments. I have read so many books and everything leads to they were the problem. What’s the consensus on tattoos in the insurance workplace? I’m in leadership and considering exploring my options due to recent personnel changes. I work remote and have arm sleeves, and any time I would be in-person I’d of course wear a long sleeve shirt to be professional, but worry about a cuff rolling up and tattoos being somewhat visible. My current CTC is 16L (13L Fixed) in
Accenture and working as CL10 and WFH.
I got an offer from PWC AC Bangalore is 21L fixed and WFH with joining date 15th Dec.
Now I got a promotional offer from Accenture of 16.6L fixed (with 25% hike) to CL9 which will be effective from 1st Dec.
They are asking me to retain.

On trial this week in the downtown courthouse where I used to clerk. Every lunch spot I used to go to is out of business, safe for the corporate chains. Can't understate what optional WFH has done to these businesses and cities. I am beyond frustrated with myself. I hate my social anxiety. It’s prevented me from succeeding and I’m at my breaking point. I get major anxiety from speaking...I wasn’t always like this, but I developed a fear of speaking/speaking up.
