Client meeting made me question my career choice. Their heartbreaking story is a stark reminder that these aren't just cases, they're people's lives. How do you all cope with the emotional side of this work?

Are you on the plaintiff’s side or the defense side?

To answer your question though (defense side here, I try not to think too much about the people behind the cases. I owe a duty to our clients so I can’t let myself get too soft. At depositions though I really can empathize and feel for them.

Hello! I’m from South Carolina and I was wondering if there was any media companies/ productions that are currently hiring PA’s or entry level workers fully remote? I would love to work in LA more than anything, but I can’t afford to move there which means I’ll just have to stick it out in South Carolina for some time. But unfortunately, South Carolina doesn’t have many opportunities in the media/entertainment industry. Any leads, tips, or advice is much appreciated. Thank you!

Okay so, its been a while since I've been seeing this in Linkedin:
The Job requirement says its Entry Level, but the experience it requires is always 6 year+... like how would a fresher match that.. should I've started coding at 6th grade or what?

I understand that it's a way of "SEO" in LinkedIn but it just discourages us freshies.

Actually not sure if this post belongs in this bowl but.. it is what it is?
P.s. I still apply to these because what's the worst that could happen... right?

Received a job offer. Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on a concern I had about it. It's an entry level position, and I don't have much experience. The billables are 2040 a year. For billable hours in civil litigation and insurance defense, is 2040 hours for a 1st year associate on the high end in this field for a small or midsize firm? It seems like most attorneys I know have minimum requirements of around 1800. The compensation is around 80k a year.

Is life insurance a priority to anyone at the moment, and if so why is life insurance important to you?

It can be impossible to deal with financial losses due to declining health or unforeseen circumstances by not having life insurance. In these cases, the solution to your debts (that can affect the financial stability of you or your loved ones) may fall within the category of life insurance.
