I know several people in that role. They’re all former biglaw lawyers who wanted a better schedule for family reasons.

They seem happier than the average lawyer at the firm but it’s not really a true 9-5 job. It’s still a fairly time intensive job from what I can see. Just definitely not the same as being an associate right now. I can also see it being a potentially frustrating job.

My concern would be how transferable your skills would be as well as the number of similar jobs. If you get fired or hate it, where can you go after this job? How easily will it be for you to move somewhere else if your firm decides it no longer needs this role?

like

Also outside of law I imagine the experience gained would be incredibly useful.

Just make sure you have proper support in place. The hours can be long regardless, but much worse if the department isn’t staffed properly. Happy to answer anything you want to know!

Not OP, but also curious about this role. Do ADMs manage other team members (I know it’s in the title, but curious about actual day-to-day)? What part of the day-to-day involves one-on-one planning meetings with associates vs. staffing placements? How many associates do you serve? What kind of technology do you use to monitor associate workloads — the firm timekeeping system, or something else? Thanks in advance for any responses 🙏🏼

Hey all - need some important advice. I feel like I under-bargained base/starting salary at Slalom. Got 79K base with up to 8% bonus in a low-to-medium cost of living area as an AC. I'm 1 year out of college (top 40 uni) with ~1 year of NON-consulting experience (mostly programming/software dev. experience at some small companies). How should I expect to increase the salary up to six-figures for the next 2-3 years?

I’m dating someone new and it is going very well. He is kind, not high strung, with great values and shares my sense of humor. It is so easy and natural to spend multiple days with him. Still I am having doubts because I think he isn’t very “intellectual”. To be clear, he’s intelligent! He is a great STEM role that requires an advanced degree. We share a love of reading as well. However he is not really interested in world affairs, does not follow the news closely, does not have a strong grasp

ACN interviewer made a mistake and did case study interview for manager level role instead of consultant role. I have great feedback from 1st Interview and not so much from case interview because of this. I had a catch up with the recruiter this morning and he said they've now closed recruitment and have said they will get in touch with me towards end of January for Q2 recruitment and that I may need to do case interview again. Good prospects or bad?
