I'm looking to find a job like the Forward Deployed Engineer role Palantir Technologies in the UK.
I have become hooked on finding a job that involves solving the kinds of problems they presented during their interviews. Although I got to the final round my performance anxiety got the better of me (I think I wanted the job a bit too much...). I will reapply after working in a similar company.
Is it "deep tech" / "data science" or "smart enterprise" that they're doing? Any advice welcome.

Are you a member of an organization or club you can take them to? Like (insert Ivy League college club) or a country club or a more exclusive gym or yacht club or well known semi-exclusive coworking space? That could be a great idea to take them along to. I’ve appreciated when people have brought me into those spaces because I otherwise wouldn’t have been to or heard of a lot of these spaces.
Rising Star
On a similar vein, I take my new associates to section and industry CLEs, then make sure I introduce them to my contacts at those events. There are a number of people who think well of me simply because they’ve seen me and I’ve said hello for the past 10+ years, so I try to start that for my clients as well.
If you both play a social sport (tennis, pickle ball, golf, etc), I think it might be fun to bond over that! I am very un-sporty though so this would not personally work for me.
My mentors took me for pedicures, table tennis, and museums. They were all in budget and something a little different than lunch.
I wish I had this kind of mentor!
