Curious what others think: are parts of our work (DDs, benchmarks, heavy research) at risk of being outsourced to specialized/tech-enabled shops?

Clients know data crunching can be done cheaper, and AI + offshore make it easier to modularize. I’ve even seen cases where grunt work goes outside, and firms are only used for synthesis/partner judgment. Is that where our real moat lies now?

Does anyone have an idea on the best emerging markets to invest in before the recession hits? Is gold, or any other commodity going to be the safe haven as well? Thanks everyone

T3 firm reached out re: direct admit to the partnership with some runway to grow the practice. I am at a firm now where there aren’t bright line metrics to make PPMD, but think I could make it in 2-5 years. This would be a step down in brand, but might be better from a WLB and getting to start at partner. Haven’t had firm comp talks yet but range was well north of 50% increase in cash comp from current (plus LT equity, draws, etc). Anyone take $ over brand? what are some traps to watch for?
