Currently trying to re-structure our firm's internal file management process. Does anyone have any file/task management software or services they recommend? Our firm is relatively small (20 employees) and has had issues when dealing with files that are worked on by different departments. Looking for a service that is efficient and wont take a significant amount of time to update following each client action (e.g. client call, opposing counsel call, status of redlines, etc).

Yesterday I officially got diagnosed with ADHD and MDD. I knew that I was feeling depressed but somehow getting diagnosed made me feel worse. I feel like I am a big failure. I had a mental breakdown yesterday night. This morning I woke up and cried for an hour at least. I had worse times in my life but this somehow feels like a trap I will never be able to escape. I’m so overwhelmed and lonely. Have no friends or family in the US. Don’t know what to do.

Why provide redlines against the original draft instead of the last turn when sending drafts to opposite counsel?! This profession makes no sense.

I recently left the gov’t for private practice with a M&A group. How does everyone bill when you are thinking about how to structure it and what docs need to get drafted? I’m learning that billing is an art so any canned language would be great!

Junior associate here, should I ask for more money if my firm is about 10-15 percent less hours but about 30 percent less pay? The gap will never be closed to the top pay scale at my firm but when I decided to come to this firm the pay difference was about 15 percent and not 30. -One K-1 per investor based on their investments and income

Working on a deal where buyer's side keeps on insisting on a POA to effectuate all actions of Seller under the agreement, including executing documents. I keep striking this and commenting that this is not standard. Has anyone dealt with this? I am okay with a limited POA based on the industry of the Seller, but not this general POA.
