I had a customer order a coffee with just a little bit of foam. I wasn't sure how little was just a little. So, I gave them a small dot of foam, and they looked at it for a second, then smiled and said it was perfect! It’s always a guessing game with custom orders, but it worked out this time.
I'm glad it worked out. I don't miss being a barista for that very reason. I would try to follow orders as closely as possible, but way too often customers expected us to be mind-readers 😅
A bit awkward, but mostly adorable. I was working at a little cafe and almost all of our customers were regulars. I was chatting with the baker and told her that no one had ever bought me flowers before. She mentioned that her boyfriend of 3 years had never bought her flowers even though she asked him to. Guess an older gentleman overheard because he came in the next day with two bouquets of a dozen roses, one for each of us ☺️ It was one of the rare occasions we had an "outsider" customer who was about ready to launch into defending us from who I'm sure he thought was a creepy old man 😂 We had to take him aside and explain.
