LEK
LEK. Dont take a job with the intention of changing it or one youre not excited about. Your performance will suffer and then you will be unable to do anything.
From the LEK perspective, I came in at the same level, now have 2 years experience, and just started looking for the same Strategy tech roles. Haven’t had much trouble getting interviews, but definitely notice a higher percent of MBB vs LEK types.
Sure
Energy Insights Solutions roles are CSP, meaning same work as integrative except you also build proprietary assets for the Firm, are dedicated to the practice, and have more protection in staffing. If you don’t like energy, don’t do it. But absolutely don’t think NOT to do it because it’s not integrative. Our energy clients 10000% prefer people who actually know what they’re talking about.

Hi McK 4 can I dm you?
FYI at mckinsey in solutions you get paid much less than CSP
Source: solution analyst
Lol u really drink the cool aid
maybe you can move within McK once you start to do the type of work you want to?
You may very well end up staffed on strategy roles, strategy just seems in everywhere and you’ll learn a lot of the same skills. But if you don’t like being a solutions analyst and your not into being more of an expert it might be hard to work all the long hours.
Thank you all for the thoughtful feedback! :) I was looking ahead and not too into how much I’d enjoy the role itself
LEK
Worse case LEK > MCK Integrative > Tech, but LEK > Tech is fair game.
@OP and all, Did it weird anyone else out that LEK didn’t doesn’t really ask any behaviorals? Got offer last week. No story questions at all. Do they just assume you’re not a total douche or terrible to work with? TBH worries me a bit.
LEK.
LEK- solid brand with good tech exits- you’ll learn a lot
