Studied accounting and finance but worried about the future of this profession. Currently working in Forensic Consulting but want to leave. Should I go back to undergrad and get a computer science degree? I honestly want a career where I could at least potentially make 600 k per year. I feel in accounting it’s near impossible. With 13.5 Lpa currently i’m at 12 and made switch on march.
Though my current company is an mnc but not that big and no work pressure is there, amazing work life balance. However, there is little to no learning and its very slow, the project is just starting and the client itself is not clear what they want. Do you think I should switch just because its a big 4. I have been stuck deciding between two offers (both in IC, but one is more program analysis -similar to consulting work but on the fed side, and actual analysis).

The program analysis offer is at a higher GS level and a more well known agency, but is not what I’m interested in.

Does anyone have any advice on how to make a decision? Go with what I want to do, or go with the more well known agency and higher gs?

Why is education deemed more valuable on a pay scale than experience? Employers will pay someone with a degree and no experience a greater salary, than someone who has exhibited the experience. Understanding that the degreed person committed to school and finished, yet that doesn't diminish what the not degreed has committed to and accomplished in their careers. This has to stop!

My contract is close to ending with a verbal offer on table to stay for 30k. I am looking for something more techanical in the engineering field that matched my abilities more. Do you continue to see in-flight interview processes through once you’ve received and accepted an offer? It feels premature to cut the chord on the others, but also the decision between the companies becomes harder. Also afraid of the possibility to go back on the acceptance of the one role in favor of another.
