It can feel that way, but it has to be looked at realistically. Those bills would have been paid out of your bank account anyway. So you're still ahead. My bonus was not terribly generous (to be polite about it) but I'm grateful to have gotten it. It bought some presents and allowed me to be more generous than I would have been comfortable being otherwise.
I didn't actually get a bonus, but I definitely feel that way about my savings. I work so hard to build it up and then it's just gone in the blink of an eye. I try not to get discouraged because it's important to buy gifts and do things for family. But it also makes me wonder what I'm working for.
I feel like that’s how it is for everyone these days. Not to minimize your experience, but ya, it sucks.
I’m living paycheck to paycheck and my bonus will hit late Jan/early Feb (it’s bi-yearly, we don’t get a holiday bonus) and it will definitely be for paying part of rent and catching up on bills.
Bonus? Be thankful you got bonus. I can’t even remember the last time I got a bonus.
Did 5 days at Disney and Universal, so, yeah.
Don’t forgot about Uncle Sam.
My "bonus" is still being employed as I have watched my team get downsized over the years from five to now just me.
