ZS fish - when applying, do you actually provide your salary history from the past 5 years? The application says proof of income will be requested during the interview process. This seems very odd so looking for guidance. Thanks!
How did you overcome imposter syndrome when applying for jobs with high requirements? My wife is looking for work but she is getting discouraged from applying from places as a project manager because of this. She doesn't want to feel like she's wasting anyones time.
I’m an immigrant with H1B. Been wanting to get out of my firm so badly but every time I apply outside, I start getting dragged into work at my current firm.I was going through some pretty rigorous interviews (I failed them) and have been in a slump since. Meanwhile my current firm keeps dumping work on me and I can’t find the time to apply outside. Anyone been through something similar? I’m losing hope. The politics is also so toxic, they started screwing me over since my last performance review.
I previously posted in this bowl about interviewing for my dream job and this past week I received a job offer!!!!!!
Hi everyone, hope you are doing well. I applied to BCG and received an email from them telling me I was on the waitlist for interviews. What is the chances of getting an interview if I am on the waitlist? I am not well connected with BCGers, any recommendations on who to contact? Do any one of you think they can help me or connect me to someone willing to help from the inside? I applied to Atlanta, Boston, and Miami. I am on a F1 visa which makes things harder, MBB being kind of my only options.
Just got turned down by Amazon after two extensive writing assignments, 6 interviews and hours spent preparing. And their policy doesn’t allow them to give feedback when an offer is not made. Talk about a bruised ego. The only silver lining is staying long enough to collect the October and January big law bonuses and then I’m out! The question is where else pays like Amazon?!
I had interviews with Grant Thornton. The last manager I interviewed with said he didn’t know what the next steps were after he turns in his assessment. How long should I wait to ask the recruiter what the next steps are? Or is anyone familiar with the interview process ?
I’ve been through a series of interviews in a competitor consulting and have been handed an offer. Any experience on how do I politely decline this offer keeping the door open?
Anyone applying to Ross? On the short answers - do you need to include the question stem in your response? (Looking to save words if I can)
Does anyone have a site/resource they use for coding interview prep? Currently doing practice challenges to refresh my SQL on Hackerrank, but wondering if there's anything better.
Went on a job interview. Went really well, then nothing. Recruiter will not respond to my emails. Do I follow up with the CD, or is that creepy/desperate? It has been months...
Anybody have any tips on getting an interview at big tech companies? I’m an early career self-taught developer and I feel like it’s hard to stand out

Not comp related but a question on references: I’ve only had 2 direct managers, current one is nice but I can’t let him know I’m interviewing. Previous one was a bully and I made clear that I cut contact with him when I left (he later had to contact me for non-essential work related stuff but I declined to talk). I have other references I could use, but want to prep for situation when employers ask “why can’t we talk to your previous manager.” Thanks!
Why don't I get any calls from the other big 4s. I've tried applying through naukri, linkedIn, referrals. Not even a single call. And here I thought I had a demanding skill set!
Does receiving an interview at most schools imply that the adcom thinks your stats check the box and as long as you ace the interview you're getting in?
Can someone give me a bit of encouragement? Currently in on-cycle, interviewed for 3 firms, all told me “nay”
With so many people reportedly leaving consulting, I’m wondering how common is it to leave for less TC? MBB comp $200k+ at 27. Do most people get increases above that or just go to jobs sitting at $150k but that “have better WLB”? *Not looking to include those that switch to industries with intentional disregard about comp (eg public sector, charity, teaching etc).
Anyone able to give me a on the ground update on experienced hire recruiting? Was chatting with a few firms in feb but COVID blew it up. Wondering if I should start reaching out to folks again or chill out until fall. Moving from Canada for context
I have offer from Yash technologies for SAP. How is the work culture there? Is it a good company in terms of hikes, roles, promotions and benefits. Is it better than joining Deloitte Considering salary in Yash is a little less than Deloitte. Will I get ample learning opportunities in Deloitte if I join there.I am thinking about work life balance too. Please suggest me where to join. I want to join a company where I'll have learning opportunity, but mental peace is also needed. Please guide.
Anyone have insight on the proskauer healthcare practice (e.g., work-life balance, reputation, etc.)?
3 months into WFH and I (and my admin) are all of the sudden making mistakes like never before. Nothing minor, but definitely not on our usual game. I think it is due to the lack of ability to talk with partners and staff in person and sync up. Anyone else experiencing this?
M&A tax M1 salary? CPA
I just accepted an M offer from Deloitte but don't start for at least another month. Haven't even had a chance to give my current employer notice. But I already have folks from Deloitte asking to connect to get me staffed on their project. Is this typical? Best way to respond? I was hoping to have a little time to orient myself -- don't feel I even know the right questions to ask to see if the project would be a good fit.
Cloud by McKinsey I have an interview with Cloud by McKinsey for a technical analyst position. Getting into this firm means a lot to me for numerous reasons. Has anyone interviewed here? Any tips or things I should keep in mind? McKinsey & Company
Hoping to relocate from the Midwest to Oregon. Family lives in Bend but we'd like to stay within 30-45 min of PDX. Recommendations for family friendly cities/neighborhoods that won't break the bank? Expensive taste with a middle class budget😆 Great public schools are a must.
EY GDS - I've referred a few people who joined recently and the referral bonus is generally disbursed once the referred employee completes 3 months with the firm. I wanted to check if I'll get the referral bonus if the referred employee completes 3 months while I'm on notice period? Thanks.
I have 1m marriott points and 300k citi points, if I want to go on a week long honeymoon in July what is the best bet? Open to all ideas
Lyft vs uber for rewards? Company politics removed, which has a better rewards system? Flying United not delta FYI and have enjoyed the $5 uber cash every 500 points
Can I be fired for constantly getting same feedback from my engagement managers that I need to pay attention to details? How do I improve on this?
Should I be ok with a 50% travel role?
It’s restructuring season. KPMG, GT, and other firms have begun announcing layoffs. Everyone should take some time to polish off their resume. It’s a cold world out there and loyalty means nothing to your employer. Here’s to hoping that everyone lands on their feet and I’ll see y’all in a happier future.
My partner and I are thinking about moving to NYC! Are there any CW jobs there right now or is it totally oversaturated from layoffs?
