TCS is the worst company one can be in.
Cheap mindset management cares more about timesheet, wfo, forceful mandatory trainings, imposing strict restrictions on laptop, access to personal docs only via vpn,no employee well being no salary hikes nth at all.90% projects filled with freshers coz they cost less.No WLB for good dedicated hard working employees as they are punished with more and more work, leaves rewards mostly for people who don’t work. But no issues kyunki job security hai 😂

Yes, doctors can get laid off. It is not common, but it does happen. Most common reason is when a hospital or clinic is downsizing or closing
Seems like a better fucking career than strategy consulting then.
The nature of the doctor’s work and the type of contract. Generally speaking, doctors in public hospitals are established, enjoy the treatment and protection of national civil servants, and will not be dismissed easily.
During the beginning of Covid, my company would have fired me if I didn’t sign a contract addendum stating that I agree to a pay cut of 50% for at least 1 year (which can be extended depending on the pandemic). This was due to clinic attendance was because of lockdown. I refused because I worked as a hospitalist and was overworked, I was bringing in more revenue than usual. They threatened to fire me and I said go ahead. They didn’t.
I didn’t get laid off, but I did get my patient load significantly decreased when one of the hospitals where I was credentialed started their own medical group and began to shut out solo practitioners like me. Talks with hospital administration meant nothing to them, so I quietly sought out another hospital/facility and took my patients there. The hospital wasn’t too pleased and threatened to sue for “breach of contract”. My contract had expired and they didn’t renew it, so nothing to break. Reminded me not to do business with them again.
Good move! I don't know what it is about hospitals and hospital systems, but they seem to reflexively launch the "power move", as if you don't have any choice in the matter.
You have what is most important of all - your patient's trust, love, and devotion.
It's very unlikely because the healthcare industry is rarely down in revenue. It would only happen if a hospital is closing
I recently got laid off because I did contract work for a for-profit company. Their excuse was that they hired a full-time psychiatric nurse practitioner (I was only working part-time). However, it is strange that about one week after I pointed out how African American patients were treated more negatively than other patients, they finally laid me off. (Note: They tried to quiet fire me twice in one year, but they still needed me. Each attempt seemed racially motivated, although you can argue the financial advantage at the same time.)
There is plenty of work for me in the local and/or federal government sector, but this has been my experience in the for-profit, private sector.
