Didn't have top grades, wasn't on law review. Worked at a midsize firm and was laid off in march-- have about 3 years experience in a hot practice area. Have been applying and had some interviews at larger shops but nothing has come of it. I'm still applying to roles (not many out there) in my area but coming to the realization based on number of larger firm rejection letter that I may not find a role. Where would you go from here if you were me? Was making good money at the midsize...

Are you in a field where you can generate your own business? If you can get a few clients, you can either move forward or leverage it into a spot with a firm.

Maybe it would need to be a mill practice like consumer 7s and 13s, not necessarily big money cases in ch.11 in bankruptcy

But smaller firms are giving salary ranges over 60k lower... I had some per diem work but that has all since dried up in the last couple of months.

That is way out of my wheelhouse, but if it's a mill practice, I'm guessing midsized firms would want to see a marketing plan. It's that something you can do?

Good luck - if it were me, I would take the lower offers and negotiate salary after getting a chance to demonstrate value. Don't know the field at all though.

Hi all, I have recently received an entry level offer from BCG Dubai.
I have 3+ years of experience out which half in consulting and half in managerial role in corporate.

Would you take such an offer or would you look for better seniority at another consulting ? Is it a fair treatment?

Hi! Recently moved to San Jose from New York due to my husband getting a major offer from a company out here. We couldn’t let him pass up the opportunity. So now, I’m on the job hunt again. But I’m having no luck with even getting call backs. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to check out my resume one on one and maybe point out anything that might be hurting me. Any help is welcome!!

Looking for guidance. I’ve been in people manager roles (in director/senior leader capacity) for the last 5 years now, and prior to that I was a “rockstar” Project Manager. I’ve worked really hard to get to the position I’m in today, but I’ve been recently asked to move from my current role to a senior IC role to take on a highly visible Program for the company, with some very senior stakeholders. I feel conflicted as it does feel like I would be backtracking in many ways. Thoughts?

Hi Team,

I have cleared all the interview rounds (WebEx & HR on call) for the position: VERIFIER, and also submitted documents (authentic as per my knowledge) for background verification on Aug. 25, 2022.

How much time usually ICICI bank takes to generate Offer Letter, after all the verification process??

A question not for myself but a friend. I have a friend who is a very experienced pharmacist with backgrounds in academia, clinical, and management. With an entrepreneurial mindset and amazingly well-rounded background, he is looking into a consulting role. His idea of consulting is different from EY, PwC, etc. But I am curious-- would there be a place for him in these firms as well?

Hi all, I want to gather some insight on biopharma exit opportunities in pharma and biotech. Specifically, I want some insight on:
- What are the usual positions that consultants exit to after ~18M
- What are the transferable skills that companies are looking for
- How important is healthcare work experience before consulting

I would really appreciate if yall could share your thoughts! Thanks.

What will happen if you get rejected in multiple client interviews, EY will keep you on bench or will sack you?

Any fish here who moved to Dubai/ME from Europe/North America and moved back home after a few years? How easy was it to move back home in terms of finding a position that didn’t require a demotion?

I heard from one person that if I want to move to back to my home country after working a few years in Dubai as a big 4 SM, my experience wouldn’t be valued at big 4 in Europe/North America and I’d have to start at least one step back. Is that true?

Hoping to find better insights here!

One professor removed me from a graded argument the week after I’d return. When I asked about this error, he had said “I had planned on your failure to appear” and that he preplanned giving me a 0 grade.

I would like to first commend the attorney for starting this bowl. I attended a T4 school and was stuck in doc review for years. However through networking, I made connections which gave me a chance to get my foot through the door. One I did I knew they would have to physically drag me out of that firm if they wanted me to leave. Now I’m a partner at a multi-state/national firm. I’m always looking for similarly situated young attorneys to mentor and help. Anyone out there feel free to pm me.
