I once worked in an organization where a lot of people had long histories together, so it wasn't technically nepotism but it was a similar dynamic. I picked up on the idea that no one really cared what I had to say, so I mostly kept my thoughts to myself. To be honest, it wasn't like my colleagues there really thought about it, they were just set in their ways and weren't interested in what anyone new had to say.

This, 100%. The company I work for is full of tribal culture. It’s safer to agree, no matter how misguided the topic/project. I’ve witnessed more than 4 disagreers targeted and let go for voicing/identifying safety problems.
Oh wow that’s so crazy they fire people who disagree. We only grow by learning new things
