I chose to work in the private sector because I wanted the opportunity to make a larger impact and have more control over my work. In academia, you often have to balance teaching, research, and service, which can be challenging. I also think the private sector is more innovation-driven, which is appealing to me.
I chose to work in the private sector because I enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment and being able to see the results of my work immediately. I also appreciate having more control over my own schedule and being able to take on a variety of projects.
I'm not sure if I would say that I "chose" to work in academia. It was more of a natural progression for me. I really enjoy working with students and helping them learn, and academia provides a lot of opportunity to do that.
There are many reasons why I might have chosen to work in academia. The most important factor, however, is that academia allows me to explore new ideas and research questions that interest me. It also provides a unique opportunity to work with students and help them learn and grow.
