do you feel like you've gotten better at negotiating for yourself over time? if so, why and how?

i def feel like the more confidence i've gotten over my years of experience has translated into accepting what i believe i deserve, both in work and non-work environments.

Most definitely, and by practicing and having the difficult conversations. Also knowing in the future how to navigate beforehand due to the practice and experience advocating. Sometimes even if it’s a ‘no’ it’s still beneficial to your journey to practice.

Yeah I think I’ve gotten better with each experience. It’s a mix of learning what to say, getting comfortable with silence, and then also realizing your value doesn’t shrink just because someone lowballs you. I think the only way to get to that kind of confidence is through repeated trial and error so you just gotta embrace the painful conversations at first

Nope. I’m still a stutter bug. And I need to practice way more.

I think over time it’s gotten better but still feels uncomfortable. The best thing that’s helped me is practicing and doing it a lot

Zero negotiating here in the Roanoke valley. The average starting pay without a degree is $15-18 an hour… have to take what you can get here… I’ve been trying to land something since February.. still trying to land just anything..

My background is in tech transactional. I joined a cybersecurity SaaS startup at the end of last year and now also handle more generalist matters in addition to all things commercial-related. I have a number of books on contracts that I’ve found super helpful over the years (The Tech Contracts Handbook, A Manual of Style for Contract Drafting, Sign Here, etc.). Can anyone recommend books they’ve found helpful for L&E matters, privacy matters, product matters, or marketing/advertising matters?

Hi Fishes,
I am an Senior iOS developer. YOE is 8.5. Currently getting 13 LPA. Getting promotion in a month with 25 to 30 percent hike which comes nearly 16.8 LPA. I cannot able to relocate now due to family dependency reasons. I heard iOS developer salary market is good. I am having a very good work life balance in the current company. I am in a confusion. Should I look for opportunities with PWFM or stay in current company? Am I making low pay as per market trends?
