Did EY Canada promote everyone a year early or something? I saw a couple of promotions on my LinkedIn that were 🤔 and then saw EY’s official post that they had the largest number of promotions ever. I’m thinking this was a product of having to give large wage hikes like all B4, i.e. if you get a 15-20% bump then we need to bump your position to maintain our ranges long-term, and/or we are going to make you earn your new $ even if you may not be ready for the new title.

“People in Toronto are really loving this billboard right now.” Why? Just why, NFA? I’m not sure what I’m more upset about, the creative or the obvious attempt to make a bland piece of creative something people care about by pushing advertorials about that bland creative that makes it sound like the next coming of Benetton.

Connections played no part in getting me my current position, but I could see how they could be useful if I wanted to move on at some point. People sometimes exaggerate the value of personal connections, but the reality is that connections can always help. People are people, after all, and they tend to hire those who come recommended by someone they know and trust.
That’s good to hear!
I think this is really true right now. My husband was out of a job for 4 months at the beginning of the year and couldn't land any interviews until he finally got a referral which led to interviews and an offer. But seriously hundreds of applications before that didn't amount to a single interview
Thanks for the feedback!
