“Employee of the Month” is just a tad embarrassing in my opinion. The company can award that for whatever they want. Maybe it’s me, but I always thought that one a bit cringe.
Being recognized for customer service, or contributing on a project or being the best at any specific thing is not cringe. It’s job security and a potential ladder to promotion too. Other people can be jealous or resentful, but if you really did the thing they say you did, that’s their problem.
No. Why would I be embarrassed? I won top adjuster in my department twice and they have a little trophy you keep for the month. We all competed for it when I was there. All of our numbers are sent out each week and month so everyone knows how everyone is doing.
No, unless it’s biased and preferential instead of results driven
So, I never liked being "recognize," for doing my "job." I have very very bad anxiety, so if attention is called to me for something it causes me to panic. It never stopped me from being recognized. The company/department respected that. It has never stopped me from doing my job to the best of my ability. It has t stopped me from helping others and participating in projects.
