Hi fishies. I have a ton of interviews coming up soon including a case interview at EY within their Innovation and Experience Design practice for Digital Strategy Manager. I am super comfortable with CX, design thinking, etc which are the types of projects I would be working on BUT I am absolutely terrible in case interviews. I was hoping it would be based on CX or design but my understanding is there is some revenue component idk. Anyone have any insight? I would greatly greatly appreciate it!

First, you got to understand that your employer is not your travel agent. For every project in NY, Miami or LA (where you may want to go) there are projects in Peoria, Omaha, Cedar Rapids and Birmingham.
Also, bringing your SO to see you, where company policy allows, is usually a taxable benefit. So, while you may get a $400 flight, you’ll also get a $150 tax bill. Still better than nothing, but definitely not “free”.
As others said, traveling Mon-Thu is not glamorous and you spend way more hours working than you probably do now. Imagine all the work you have to do for a client, but you’re losing 3-4 hrs in travel, twice a week.

What world do you live in that consultants travel? Travel hasn’t been a thing since March 2020. Travel as normal BAU will never come back, clients refuse to pay for it. The only travel that may return is for kick-off meetings and the like.
My sense so far is when I’m traveling I’m 100% working. I’ve been to cities with friends and seen no one. May vary or maybe I’m mismanaging it.

I’m right there with you.
NO HELL NO I HATE TRAVELING. Do it on ur own cuz work travel isn’t all that in my opinion. Did the weekly deloitte and then start up travel
And Jesus I just don’t wanna be around co workers that much lol I wanna be around my man, dogs, my own friends way more haha. Plus Implementations can totally be done remote and my goodness my mental health and happiness and effectiveness at work are a million times better being fully remote :) plus working remotely u can live wherever! I’ve moved so much remote working my overall life happiness being remote is just so amazing! Was very depressed traveling regularly in old positions.
It’s not as glamorous as u think. Plus traveling 2/3 weeks gets old fast
I heard its fun for a few years and I'm a single 27 y/o man so if anyone can take advantage it would be me.

It remains to be seen what it will look like in the post COVID world.
