Ultra-partisan take incoming:
It’s easier to live in Nashville as a bachelorette or as a pedal tavern than it is as a resident.
The city is liberal but the moment you cross city boundaries it turns republican quickly. The liberals here are also more moderate. I used to live in Chicago and everyone was VERY far left. Either way…everyone is very tolerant and accepting of all ways of thinking. Another thing that is very different from Chicago.
I live in Nashville and don't think it matters. I mean the state as a whole is more conservative with Nashville being more liberal. But, I don't think your political views make living here any easier or harder. Your income does though!
My whole family is liberal and they've lived in Nashville forever with no problems. I'm sure there's the same issues as in any other city but as it goes I find Nashville pretty tolerant.
It's way easier to live here if you are tolerant of other people's political views. I lived in NYC for 20 years and some of people here are further to the left than my friends in NY. That being said, you have a lot of people on the other end of the spectrum here as well. Most people are more interested in who you are as a person than what color tie you wear.
Liberal city in a conservative state. Perfect combo
Nashville is decently blue, especially for a Southern state. As others have said, just cross the county line and it's MAGA country. Should not affect your work prospects, though.
