Is your firm treating 12/26 and 12/27 as firm holiday since the 24th and the 25th are during the weekend this year? Of course client demands would dictate whether people will be working, but curious what the official policy is. For what it’s worth, my firm treated the day after thanksgiving as holiday and I didn’t have to work for the whole day.

I have been working in my job for a year now but I have 5 years of experience. I am technically doing 3 full time jobs - marketing manager, social media manager & part time recruiter for a trucking company. I am starting to become overwhelm and SEVERELY underpaid. I’m only at 45k for all of the work I do.

So my question is how do you ask for a raise? How much should you project for over what you’re already making? What should you have prepared to back up your reasoning?

Need advice. Leadership originally referred to us as Specialists. For the past month or so, they've been telling us we're Project Managers in absolutely no uncertain terms.

But they have told us flat-out (even when asked directly) that we won't get a salary change or even just a title change. What should we do? It seems unethical at the very least.

Any good recommended books on how to build a scalable product and team? I'm looking for recommendations for two areas: 1) in general laying the groundwork in a startup to have the tools and especially processes in place to scale, and 2) tactical focus on building a SaaS project. I've been promoted into a management role from Dev roots, so need to learn more PM processes to be an effective manager in day job, plus would like to start building my own SaaS solution.

I'm a project manager at an understaffed consulting startup. I hate it so much that I want to quit today and only give 1 week notice. However if I did that, my last day would be 1 week away from Go Live for 2 different projects. Would it be really bad to leave so close to Go Live?

Hey all - first year associate here… I’ve met my hours requirement for this year (requirement is 1900 and am currently at around 2050 with billable hours - approx. 2160 with non billable admin hours) and I am just tired. Is it okay to just “disappear” during the holidays (thanksgiving week, week of Christmas) and let partners and senior associates know I am not available? At this point I don’t care about making more money - I just want to sleep, read a good trashy book, and cuddle with my dog.
