I had an online assessment round at Intuit and then a technical round. Both went good. But its been 15 days I am yet to hear back from them. Does intuit send closure/rejection email or is it just implicit? also what is the cooling period for intuit ? and what should be the expected ctc if things go right? I think it’s all what you see as the “nyc lifestyle.” It’s expensive but lots of people live in neighborhoods they can’t afford bc they like to be surrounded by a certain scene. If you’re expecting reservations at tiktok buzzy restaurants or to go to raves in deep Bushwick twice a week, I’d say yeah those scenes are absolutely overrated. But living in a walkable neighborhood, seeing the same people every day, forming a community, having the best museums and culture at your fingertips, often for free, is not overrated. I’ve been here 10+ years and every time I think of moving, I feel a sense of panic at what I’d be giving up.
I love it here, but I have seriously considered moving to Chicago recently. The cost of living is much lower and the salaries are pretty competitive with New York.
@ss1 you funny! What an imagination!
Have a rich spouse, it’s the only way
But now the robots are here.
The robots won’t stop till they win. Actually they will probably keep going because they are robots with no soul.
NY is the best. The experience is worth it 💯

I loved NYC when I was younger but once our eldest turned elementary school age we GTFO.
Still 40 min from the city but we wanted her (and her younger brother) to grow up with an actual yard and neighborhood to play in.
Congratulations!! You’re seeing it for the scam that it is. I was there nearly 20 years before Covid forced me to the burbs in a different state. And I have to say, my quality of life has soared. Sure, there is less access to great, casual dining, museums, cool clubs, and entertainment. But the lower stress factor and ease of everything has made it all worth it.
New York is a goddamn lie.
Get your core work experience there, maybe fall in love, and party there in your 20s…and then GTFO!
The making more money would be a good option if you like the city lifestyle. But if you don’t, I doubt a bigger paycheck will make it worth it.
I agree with Senior PM 1. It’s easy to get sucked into that trendy lifestyle but when you decide to take a step back and enjoy what’s around you — this place can be really great. I guess it depends what your long term financial goals are

You can do SO MUCH in the city for cheap. You just gotta know where it is.
And go where!!!!??? Would love to hear from people who left and love where they are now (and why tgey love it)?
Have never felt this needed nyc.
Mistyped. I meant that I never felt the need for New York. Ever. In fact I think a lot of people stay there, broke not realizing there is a way out.
