Does anyone else’s job require them to read every single work email and reply to most of them, even when a reply doesn’t really feel necessary? My work expects me to do this, and honestly, I hate it so much. Sometimes I wonder if I should focus on actually finishing my tasks, or spend time replying just to acknowledge emails that don’t really need a response?

I feel like not everyone has to deal with this… or do you?

Your area director is same as my group manager. What beyond my understanding is that people at this level of management have time for such things. I mean don't they have other important tasks to perform?

My last job was like this they were extremely strict about it. Once I had decided to start job hunting, I allowed myself to go full-petty and turn up the malicious compliance. My boss's "thank you" email reply would get a "thank you" email reply in return.

I am a Software Engineer in a product based company. I have total experience of 4 years. Relevant experience is same in C#, .NET, .NET APIs and Web Services, MVC, MS SQL Server, T-SQL, etc. I have been working in Agile model (Scrum) through tools like JIRA, Confluence. I also have experience in Batch Scripting for creating small-mid scale monitoring tools as I have experience in L3 Technical Support. Have used MS Office, ServiceNow, etc for reporting.
