I mix desmos and paper /pencil stuff all the time. I think it's very important, especially for math, that kids get to work with paper and pencil since showing their work in higher level mathematics is still easiest in pencil/paper form. I try to think about the main learning goal when deciding how to deliver a lesson. If I want them to learn concepts, like understanding what finding solutions of Quadratics mean, I may use desmos more. If I want them to learn how to do specific skills, solving Quadratics via completing the square, I'll probably lean more towards paper/pencil.

Definitely use both! I use Desmos a lot but also have the students do graphing etc on a paper/pencil test as well.

In the past two weeks my work has picked up 10x what it was previously. Now I’m working 70+ hr weeks and often my projects are submitted nearly before deadline since I’m shuffling multiple at once. My team is understaffed and there’s no plan to hire people due to COVID-19. How do you manage to tackle the day instead of let it tackle you? I feel like no one knows how much I’m suffering since I’m WFH’ing and try to relay positive emotions over FaceTime or messages.
