Does certifications give you edge?

Not really, but it can be the difference of being more knowledgeable than another candidate

Certifications can't guarantee anything, so they don't give you an edge in that sense. They simply do what they say, they certify that you learned things and would have a level of competence. So they can give you credibility, and in a competitive environment that would, perhaps, be considered an edge.

Honestly, not really. There are some that look good on a resume but I don't think they really give you an edge.

I’m curious if they make a difference for an ATS. Anyone in HR in this bowl know?

"Certifications can open doors, but can they truly demonstrate your ability to drive results?"

While digital marketing certifications have long been a staple in professional development, their effectiveness in reflecting real-world capabilities is increasingly questioned. SEOSiri's recent article, "Why Skill Validation Beats Digital Marketing Certification"
, delves into this very issue.

Key Takeaways:

Performance Over Memorization: Traditional certifications often assess theoretical knowledge through multiple-choice questions, which may not accurately reflect a professional's ability to solve complex, real-world problems.

Dynamic Skill Validation: SEOSiri introduces a performance-based validation system that simulates real-world scenarios, allowing professionals to demonstrate their skills in action.

Continuous Learning: The fast-paced evolution of digital marketing tools and strategies necessitates ongoing skill development. Performance-based validation encourages continuous learning and adaptation.

For those seeking to truly showcase their expertise and stand out in the competitive digital marketing landscape, exploring performance-based validation methods may be the key.

I have an offer to do some consulting for a company based out of the UK (I am in the US). The job would not go through a consulting company but would be directly with the company. I have not done any consulting before so I am not sure how it works, what I would need to set up (they mentioned that I would start a LLC and bill them directly, no idea how to do that), how to determine the tax implications of this, or what hourly rate I would expect. Can anyone offer advice?

Is this an aggressive position? Would you use final regulations effective for tax year beggining Dec 16, 2020 to support a deduction for calendar tax year 2020? Proposed regulations didn't include this exception. More details below.

Heard that Accenture gave promotions to all in the name of Fastrack promotion tag in Dec 2021.. as the attrition rate is high currently.. is that true...?

I was going to accept, but now I’m having second thoughts about leaving a secure gov job with good benefits. Really not sure what to do.

Hello, first post here. Outside sales, merchant services/card processing. I’m primarily a welder but I work 4 10-hour shifts typically then I try sales the last three days. I’ve done it long enough to where I’m confident and comfortable going to new businesses, establishing some rapport with business owners. But it seems like a lot of businesses see this as a waste of time, even adding services and cutting costs. I guess either I’m looking for advice or considering not doing this anymore.

So, recently got put on a PIP after six months at my new job., two days after I told my boss and HR I recently learned I have a cognitive disability caused by an illness. The PIP was mostly because I forgot some deadlines, but also they said I need to be more professional in emails (even though others use zero punctuation and a lot of emojis. To clients.) and simultaneously ask more questions and ask fewer questions. Should I just assume this is unattainable and look for a new job again?
