I struggle with finding a good enough value for them. Most people agree it’s international business class flights? But I’ve yet to find those deals so keep hoarding until then.
Churn and burn.
Chase points are by far the easiest to use because they have Hyatt (getting 2-3x value is simple). They also have domestic partners like United and Southwest (redemption value is just okay here usually).
The highest value will always be international first/business class flights, but they are also pretty difficult to get. People go as far as repositioning, which is overkill imo. And you either need to book a year out or wait until last minute (T-14). Oh and many carriers only release 1 seat...
Personally I don't mind flying economy to far locations like Asia, as I did it every year growing up. I'd rather use my points on a luxury Hyatt stay. Given that, I've focused on Chase points. I do have a stack of Cap One miles that I'm not entirely sure how to use. Probably transfer to Aeroplan and book a business class flight one day, if something pops up (e.g. ANA).
I got a business class seat to the opening ceremony on Air France for 50k Amex points - I snatched that up so fast lol
