Does LinkedIn make it this hard for everyone to change their email? My account is still tied to my old job’s email, and I need to update it. I’ve tried every option I can find (adding a new email, merging accounts), but nothing’s worked so far. Has anyone figured out a fix for this? Tax question: my SM changed my hours with a location I never worked at, from 2020. When I asked for a change, he is hesitant since it’s a long process. Would it cause any issue on visa if I filed a tax to a state I never worked in?

Switching from commission to salary!

I’m considering a less sales-oriented role that doesn’t pay commission. The new role will have a higher base but lower overall earning potential.

What % haircut should be expected? As an example, if I make 100k (base + commission) today, would it be realistic to ask for 90k (10% cut) + equity to make up the difference?

Why are town Hall meetings so impersonal? They are all about awards / the number of people hired. I know FCB health is large, but we never hear from people who aren’t Executives. Last town hall, when discussing inclusion efforts, there were no people of color represented and one of the 4 pillars of diversity was centered around our “reputation as an organization” (that really rubbed me the wrong way). At my last agency those conversations were always led by people of color from every level.

Last week I had to explain to my child what “politics” (as in office politics) is. My child is going to a new high school and wants to play volleyball. There was a 3 day open “tryout” for incoming freshman for 2 teams. After the first day, she noticed that
1) there were obvious favorites (coaches are not even hiding that fact);
2) some can’t even play and got on the team,
3) some that can obviously play but did not get on the team;
4) decision were obviously made before the first day was over.

During initial onboarding with the firm, does the first week or so count towards utilization or is there somewhat of a grace period?

Now that the craziness of 2021 is firmly in the mirror, what is your class year and when do you normally stop working at night, on average? For me 6 to 7 is the average. Have to wake up at 5 or 6 a.m. one or two days a week to make that happen though and it may not last through Q4..

Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I assist two VPs and now they want to add a third because they’re looking for the “ 3:1 ratio “. Should I ask for a raise? Is this normal? Hey! I’m new here and would like some input. I’ve been working in a new position for almost 5 months. In that time I’ve witnessed some unethical and lots of unprofessional behavior. I’ve been yelled at and berated by my coworker 3 separate times because of minor errors. I’m ready to quit. There are so many major issues in this company that I don’t know if I want to subject my mental health to this degree of toxicity. I just don’t know how to move forward from here.

Help,I started a new career n the events industry and I think I have to quit! The person I report to is so disorganized and there are no other managers in the office to direct day to day operations of our department. On day 2 I was asked to go to a job site and perform a 12 hour day without any training, safety equipment or tools. On day 3 I was asked back to site to do general labor! I ended cutting my hand on an exacto knife and there was no first aid! Is this normal?
