We did last year. I think the bank with the lien had to approve the sale price. We had issues throughout the sale for various owner related reasons but their foreclosure attorney ended up telling our real estate attorney approx how much they owed. That was well into the purchase and sale though.
I’m sure but I don’t think that would be released to the public by a private bank.

Property taxes are public info. You should be able to go to the local tax assessor site to see how much they owe. Thats how I found out my neighbor owes $50k in back taxes on their property which they left vacant for a number of years.
