Does McKinsey send you an email confirmation that your background/social media check clears? How long does it typically take after Sterling completes the background check?

It's getting rather close to my start date, and having difficulties getting a hold of the HR group doing the background checks. My boss already knows, but he can't officially put a job posting up until I give my official resignation. I'm trying to make this as smooth of a transition as possible for my boss.

One of my siblings has a substance abuse problem since their teen years. It’s impacted me and traumatized me deeply. I keep in touch with them regularly because they have small children that I don’t want to be isolated from them in case of a relapse. My sibling thinks I want to have a relationship with them and it triggers me when they say they want to hang out more than what I have boundaries for. I don’t really want a relationship, I just want to stay close to keep an eye on their sobriety.

McKinsey referral system glitch?

I got a referral from an EM over a month ago. He says my candidate status showed "turned down" immediately following the submission. He suspects it was because the status from my previous application to McKinsey over 2 years ago got pulled into the system automatically.
