Hello,
Last Wednesday I was able to get a Deloitte job referral, I applied the next day. Yesterday I signed in to my account and it shows that I applied for the job but when I click on the link it show me an error page. I searched for the job on the website itself and it disappeared. There were like multiple positions but different locations, now they’re all expired. What does this mean? Did they choose a candidate already? It’s weird it never happened to me before
Thank you in advance 🙏🏻

I’d generally say FAANG, but nowadays it depends which one lol
Great question! Couple points to address:
1) in regards to HC consulting, it’s an excellent practice. The people are truly passionate about solving organizational issues with people-focused solutions. The culture in both the practice and the firm in general is collaborative and fun. My favorite part of my job truly is my colleagues. (Edit: my answer is specific to mck, can’t speak to the other two firms, though I’m sure it’s similar.)
2) as to which offer you should take - well, that’s hard for anyone to answer but you. But a few things to think of: 1) the compensation trajectories at the higher levels in consulting is pretty damn good, and arguably easier to achieve than comparable salary in tech, assuming you stay with the firm. 2) we really do have the rolls Royce of health / benefits plans - I recently had a major surgery and can’t tell you how supportive the firm was and how nice it was not having to worry that it would be financially devastating. 3) you will likely work less hours in tech. 4) exit options for both are very good! But I would say slightly broader for consulting, where you can pick really any industry you want, versus a pm role, where you’ll probably be limited to other tech roles afterwards. But if you know you want to stay in tech, that may be fine.
Hope this helps, good luck with whatever you decide!
This is incredibly insightful, thank you for the write up!
Historically the answer is FAANG. Now, idk.
Coach
If you interviewed with one of the firms for a high level experienced position I assume you have met with the local office and/or practice leaders. Do you not trust what they told you regarding the office and practice?
Considering that there are many MBBers who try to exit to PM roles, I’d say take that one
