Don't bother getting your CPA if you have no Big 4 experience, Big 4 experience is all that matters.

Also don't bother learning how to research and apply accounting standards, learning things like Power BI, automation, or anything else employers say they want but don't. Literally, all they care about is the Big 4 experience. If you do not have this, then just coast and don't bother to learn anything useful, because CPA's who are in neither category are not wanted in this field.

Does anyone work at a firm where legal assistants don't do legal assistant things? For example, I have to do my scheduling and calendaring. I have to upload documents to our file management system. This morning, a name partners assistant didn't realize the name partner had a depo and didn't confirm it. This is how this firm as been for decades and it's incredibly frustrating to work this way. Is CMA worth getting after getting the CPA? Or is it better to get the CFA. Also don’t have much finance background so I don’t know if I can pass the CFA will require a lot of hard work. Interesting in hearing people’s thoughts.
