Hi everyone, current job has obnoxiously long notice period and they won’t let me leave for health reasons. Wondering what my options are if there are any? I never signed a contract for my second year in and definitely did not have an opportunity to renegotiate my terms for my second year at the job. Right now I’m overworked and really want to step away but my job is not letting me do so. Would love some advice if i should involve lawyers vs continue talk to my bosses (who have not been helpful)
Anyone working at Progressive Insurance able to do a referral? I keep reading that it’s the main way to apply. I’m currently in inbound sales with Allstate any recommendations as to which positions are available with progressive and do they micromanage constantly?
Does anyone know how long the waiting period for health insurance is at IQVIA ?I start soon and I absolutely abhor my current marketplace plan so I’m excited to switch
How's everyone doing with back to school and mental health? I'm too stubborn to break, but UUUGHHHH! Work is absolute hell with no relief in sight (but I'm glad to have a job!) & my child is starting a new school (in-person). So many emails and orientations, it's like being a lost kindergarten parent all over again! Plus a "mother's council" Zoom mtg @ 930 on a Thu AM?! Already super stressed & overwhelmed. Also lying about about not breaking, just haven't hit the wall of tears quite yet. Sigh.
Coming from ACN, senior analyst, 3yrs total experience so far & wanting to get into the data analytics/BI work. Currently have had experience working with SQL developer, OBIEE/OBIA, Teradata in ERP and Healthcare projects. I also have my AWS Cloud Practitioner Cert, hoping to eventually get the Data Analytics Cert later. What are my chances of finding a role with another company that'll let me work in BI/data analytics and build up my skill at the same time? Been thinking of leaving ACN.
so, how many firm laptops' worth of billable time would you say you waste in a given month dealing with delays caused by your firm laptop?
Long story short, I have a bachelors in Public Health/Health Science, and no idea what to do with it. I currently am contracted with a disabilities agency in the vocational services side of things, working for $20/hr with no benefits. I realize this is a very low paying job, but I do not know the extent of the career options with the degree I have. I’d like to ask, what would be the highest paying/most rewarding career options for me?
Are there any M7s that are particularly good for breaking into VC? Any non-M7s as well? Looking to break into Healthcare VC if that makes a difference
How many Firm (non-billable hours) a year do you commit, where do most of them go, and what’s your gender?
Maybe some perspective might be of use to me. I’m transitioning out of the service and I’ve positioned myself decently to be competitive in the market. I’ve got two offers from great companies. Biotech and Healthcare, both on the Human Capital Team as an Employee Relations Consultant. I have a graduate degree pursuing a Doctorate, LSSBB, ScrumMaster, SPHR, and PMI-ACP certified. I know this is personal and dependent, but what should I be considering as a commensurate salary?
Do any of you know of insurance companies that hire independent agents? I’m looking to branch off and don’t know where to start. Any advice would be appreciated.
Does Alvarez and Marsal (UAE) offer a housing allowance ? Any other perks ? How is their healthcare insurance?

Quite quitting is not a bad thing.
On the other hand, it eliminates the useless nepotism, favouritism and riding on the backs of just showmanship and the perception of doing more than you are meant to do.
It provides a equal playing field without the vagueness of perception based performance. Just because someone puts in 18hours of work and sacrifices their physical and mental health, personal time and family time does not mean it's a win-win situation..
Deloitte folks, are you mapped specifically to healthcare or just to a “strategy and ops” type group?
Partners/shareholders - how many hours are you expected to bill on work vs client dev and firm/associate management? My firm keeps saying that "there's no such thing as a relationship partner" and everyone top-to-bottom is expected to log 2000 hours/year on real billable work. Marketing etc is done on top of that. Is that normal?! If so, I'm going to have to totally rethink my life goals.
What do you guys feel about the Supreme Court’s decision in overturning Roe vs. Wade? It is still a hot topic in our office.
How do you tell your manager their budget is INCREDIBLY unrealistic? Everyone is aware that we’re over, then at the end of the engagement manager is all “why are we over?!”

B4 Accountant posted they are interviewing for Goldman Sachs.. someone asks if they are POC. This is exactly why I, as a Black man will always feel like my success and hard work will always be attributed to my color and not merit. We just can’t win. 😔
Before you comment, please understand that this a real issue a lot of us face now. Tbh it’s become an insecurity of mine. We are just as good and just as worthy and we don’t get where we are because of the color of our skin!
Looking for 11 likes to unlock my dm feature. Could you folks please help me out.
Thanks in advance. :)
I am a registered nurse with over 10 years experience in various areas, including ER. I’m transitioning to L&D. I originally sent a resume to a post w/$10k sign-on. Before giving an offer, they sent a link stating I had to complete an app. The link showed a $20k sign-on bonus. Now the offer letter arrives with $10k. I’m not being greedy but could def use the extra as I am taking a pay cut for the position. Should I press for the $20k or just sign as is?
Thanks for all input

Seems like consulting is very task oriented while industry is more about relationship building. Any ex consultants in industry have trouble with this transition in mindset?

I am thinking about moving into private practice. I am three years out of graduate school ( I went to school for clincial mental health counseling). I am currently living in NYC and my current group practice is paying me much lower (as well as treating me poorly/ burning out) than I think I could be getting if I started my own practice. Any tips on where to begin? Any programs you would suggest regarding the business side of a private practice? Thank you!

That is a lot! Hopefully you have supportive and understanding leadership. If you are struggling, then I think that is important to share, especially with this type of work. As leadership, they should see the investment it is to keep you well. Hopefully you can reduce your caseload, either supervision or patients or both.
Thanks so much for that validation, I know my supervisor cares a lot about me, it's just tbe culture of change right now in the whole organization, I know I'm not alone but it's A LOT
