Do take notes. Do ask questions. Don't be late.

I always try and observe for the first few days. I stay in the background, getting to know people and learning to read the room. I know I can be a bit much to some people, so I have to keep that reigned in until I know how much I can let show.

I relate to this

My team thought I was quiet and then they got to know me 😂

Don't overshare! Listen more than you speak and take it all in. Don't make the mistake of opening up too soon (even if they are super chatty), stay professional and get comfortable with the position/company/managers first.

How long do you think people should wait to open up?

Do ask questions, get to know everyone, what they do, and the office culture. The don'ts would be so pushy. Don't come into the office trying to change up everything.

Don't act like you know everything but don't ever leave an impression that you know nothing and that you can't work independently. Know the people around you before you open our mouth because none of them are your friends. Sorry, that's from my 12 years of experience.
