If this is someone coming out of school it’s understandable and not a bad lift off point for his career. Not sure this is a fair roast
Kids get excited and a strategy role out of undergrad from a non target maybe extra exciting. 🤷♂️
Imagine knocking people for being proud of their accomplishments. You must be a joy to work with.
Good job changing the title of the post. Thanks.

They'll be on FB shortly complaining about their low pay and long hours in no time. Followed up with a referral request for a role making $300k with 1 YoE.
D3, Best I could offer is a transposing of the numbers: 80hr work week at $40k with no free weekends.
Not to be brass but is it really a dream for people to work at Deloitte? Deloitteful dream just feel like we should tell people to shoot higher no?
Rising Star
Intern, where do you go to school?
Rising Star
I miss the days when LinkedIn didn’t yet have this “dear diary” newsfeed
Rising Star
Do they think it’s an Oscars speech?
Chief
It’s harder to get into Deloitte than it is to win an Oscar…
We are not all in the same boat, but we are all in the same storm
Ahh!! Very philosophical.
LAMBS TO THE SLAUGHTER
On one hand I totally understand being excited about starting a new professional career as one’s college career comes to a close, but these always feel cringey to me. Can’t you just celebrate with your friends and family? These just make me think you’re needy and fishing for congrats / compliments. What’s even worse though is I’m now seeing parents posting congrats to their kids on their news jobs. (Thankful that I know my 20-something kids would kill me if I did this!)
Chief
I don’t see what’s wrong with this. You may not realize this but there are lots of people who want to pursue this career path. Let them be happy.
Would I write like this? No. Does it bother me that other people do? Also no. Just let them live
100% this
Some of you really are insufferable. Let this person be happy about their accomplishments.

Has to throw in Strategy lol. In for a rude awakening

1) People tend to have multiple dreams
2) Some dreams are nightmares
It's harder to get into Deloitte than Harvard. Those chumps at McK have nothing on Deloitte. If they work for Deloitte they’ll get to make an impact that matters.
At McK, you get to pimp opioids and help bankrupt small countries.
At Accenture, you get to answer the phone for the State Umemployment Line.
So Deloitte sounds good...
There are lots of working class families where the youngest generation break through into jobs like this and it represents a generational shift. It also probably took a lot of effort on their part. Worth a thought before you cringe too much.

Wait until he joins fishbowl and realizes how behind he is

It’s not just about pride but people may do this to show their gratitude to their mentors. Leave the kids alone, OP.
I came from a third world country did not even knew I would be able to join a global firm. I even still remember when I got issued by first blackberry and RSA token.
Why two year? Like industry hire or intern and then full time over, etc.
