I leased a Stelvio and it was the best car I’d ever driven. I had no issues during the lease. Now in a Giulia. Stelvio is significantly safer than the BMW, drives better, isn’t boring, etc. Even if it costs slightly more, definitely go with the Alfa.
I really like my X1. Peppiest engine among the ICE entry-level luxury “SUVs”.
Maintenance will be high eventually on all the brands mentioned but Italian cars have an even worse reputation than German cars. No one does interiors better than the Germans.
If cargo room matters to you, X1 has the biggest boot and best legroom for your friends when you’re heading up to the mountains, but you wouldn’t know it looking at it from the exterior.
Alfa-romeos are cooler than they have ever been but I really like the BMW.
What about Q3 or Q5? I’d rule out any of the Cadillac’s because they are fwd
Q5 is bit outside the budget. Q3 is more comparable from a price point. Would you say Q3 Audi is better than BMW X1. I think brand affinity would kick in her.
I bought an SQ5 right before the pandemic hit and I love it. I was in between that or the Macan S or gts but those were impossible to find with the options I wanted. When I was shopping, I liked the merc and Audi interiors a lot more than bmw. I didn’t look at the Alfa’s because of their historically low reliability but I really wish I did now. I love the way they look and their interiors are great.

SQ5 and macan are nice but significantly more expensive on the lease. Alfa’s are also better with 2 year leases, not 3 year which is typical.
